These are a few of my favourite things...

It's been a fair while since I've posted a blog with loads of photos. Since I haven't photowhored lately, let me share with my dear audience a few of my favourite things at the moment. No raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles, warm woollen mittens or brown paper packages tied up with strings here. Go watch 'The Sound of Music' for that, you weirdo hehe

1. Funny printed tees. I think I've bought like 6 printed tees in the last month. Wanna buy more!! Here's a personal fave that I so wanna buy but most likely wouldn't wear in public.


2. OPI nail polish. I'm so running out to buy some more once I finish exams as a gift to myself. I'm thinking of buying this shade next. Ooh, glittery green!! ^__^


3. Rock music. Currently got the 'Triple J Hottest 100 of All Time, 2009' on repeat right now. I know not all the songs on that list are rock, but meh, it's a pretty good mix of old and new songs.

4. Korean dramas. Re-watching 'Boys over Flowers' and gonna finish off re-reading 'Conversations Between Us' soon enough. Lee Min Ho, you'll be in my dreams tonight and all throughout my exams.


5. Grain Waves. My study snack food of choice. The Sour Cream and Chives flavour is to freakin' die for. Probably one of the only snack foods I'm willing to pay full price for at the supermarkets.


6. Futurama. FINALLY getting around to watching the movies and now I wanna watch the whole series again. Loving it so much that I have the remixed theme song as one of my ringtones now!!


OK, enough 'sharing is caring' time. Need to finish this submission once and for all and get back to study. SIGH.

Confessions of a bitchaholic

Hello, my name is Angie. And I'm a bitchaholic.

Over the years, I never thought of myself as very bitchy. Even though I went to an all girls' school and such, I always thought I turned out OK in the bitch department. Maybe I just compared myself to some REALLY bitchy people and just thought 'Yeah, I'm definitely not as bitchy as her. I'm fine'.

Lately, my cynical side has come back to haunt me and unleashed a big can of bitchass. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone recently with the stuff I've said or done. I'll make it up to you soon enough!! I'm a big believer in karma so if I've done wrong by you, tell me or I'm gonna be cursed for a while!!!

Also got to catch up with my girly girls today for a nice picnic in New Farm Park. Always a pleasure and always so much fun talking and laughing about each other, guys, everything!! Hoping we all get to catch up again soon and can't wait to see all the photos =)

Sick of being sick...

Doesn't help that I'm sick as well. So convenient that I haven't been sick at all this year and as soon as I do, it's at a time when I really need to be well *sighs* Just gotta suck it up, build a bridge and get over it.

On the upside, I've been spending some quality time with some quality friends lately. My dearest CC came up for a visit over Easter and it was good to see her lovely face again. The Skype session was also a blast!! Can't wait to see you again my dear =) Also went to Anne's farewell over the weekend and I was glad I got to go 'cause I always seem to miss out on her other celebratory gatherings like her 21st and her graduation. I'm gonna miss you so much when you leave though =(

More fun times to come. About to head to my Japan group reunion for ramen ^__^ Hopefully that and a mah jong session will get me motivated to smash this assignment [in a good way].

30+ things a tourist MUST do in Japan...

I've been back in the good ol' city of Brissy for 3 days now and one of the things I'm really gonna miss about being a tourist in Japan is the number of things you can get away with just because you're a tourist [and because we can hehe]. I've compiled a list of the absurd things some, most, or all the people I was with in Japan did while we were there:

1. Took photos with all the typical people you find in Japan [geishas, sumo wrestlers, school kids, samurais, Harajuku girls, cosplayers]
2. Took penis and pissing photos with some of Japan's landmarks
3. Took photos of people who slept weirdly on the train
4. Took photos of funny Engrish signs and funny Jap signs and posters
5. Constantly changed Kal's Facebook and MSN status to really inappropriate things [this is more because we could, not because we were tourists muahahahhahaa]
6. Listened to music out loud in public
7. Sang Linkin Park songs at the top of our lungs while walking back to the hotel quite drunk
8. Sang 'Gee' by Girls Generation at the top of our lungs at karaoke even though the only words everyone could properly sing to was 'Gee Gee Gee Gee baby baby baby baby'
9. Ninja ran through a busy train station
10. Ninja ran across Shibuya crossing [one of the busiest intersections in the world]
11. Played Big 2 on a busy train using the aisle for the discard pile
12. Played Big 2 sitting on the sidewalk while waiting for a bus
13. Played Big 2 in an onsen
14. Played Big 2 sitting on the floor at Narita airport
15. Played Big 2 and mah jong at coin laundries
16. Played mah jong with 4 people on the top bunk of a bunk bed
17. Constantly yelling out inappropriate Jap words and phrases in public like お元気ですか？['o genki desu ka? which is meant to mean 'How are you?' but stupidly, I told the guys it meant 'How you doing?' and it kept getting brought up as a pick up line >_<"], 気持ち ['kimochi' which means 'It feels good'] and おっぱい ['oppai' which means 'tits' for those of you playing at home]
18. Pretending we knew Jap by adding です [desu] at the end of every English phrase or word [e.g. telephone です, bill です, yes です]
19. When we didn't know a Jap word or phrase, acting out the word or phrase or by drawing pictures [this is a LOT funnier than what I make it out to be]
20. Paying for things which only cost a few hundred yen [equivalent to less than AU$10] with 10000 yen notes [equivalent to about AU$120]
21. Paying for meals which cost about AU$200 with lots of coins [and by lots, I'm talking about using at least 50 coins ranging from 1 yen to 500 yen]
22. Made up English subtitles for Japanese dramas on TV
23. Created Asian roadblocks in busy places
24. Stood on the train in one straight line staring in one direction, then would periodically change directions throughout the train trip
25. Jogged in and out of the train in a straight line
26. Crab walked out of the train in a straight line
27. Ghost walked in a straight line at the train station
28. Trying to bypass people who work at the train station with expired Japan Rail passes
29. Used Japanese pick up lines at the clubs
30. Wore 浴衣 ['yukata', meaning a traditional Japanese robe] and 下駄 ['geta', meaning Japanese sandals] everywhere from the theatre to the restaurant... we even wore them to sleep on some nights!!

I know there's way more to add to the list but we either didn't get around to doing it, we didn't think about doing it or I've just forgotten to write about it here. Feel free to add to the list and I'll have to make sure I do it or the people I'm with do it next time we're in Japan or in another foreign country hehe

On a related note, I wanna thank the group I was with in Japan for most or all of the trip [Go, Charles, Jess, Djay, Steph, Kal and Nick] for making the Japan trip the awesome time it was. It's been a lotta fun bonding with and getting to know you guys, doing all the touristy things, eating great food, sharing millions of jokes and payouts, and you guys know the rest... you were all there with me hehe I look forward to seeing all the photos and vids again and we'll have to have some kinda Japan trip reunion soon!!

Catharsis 22 - November

Starting to get into the studying groove. I actually want to do half decently this semester [half decently meaning no 4's!!!] so if it seems like I'm MIA, I'm most likely just cooped up at home. Or at uni. Or I've died trying.

Holidays are nearly ending and I'm actually really sad about it. I'll wait 'til the end of the holidays to blog about it since there's still a few events coming up but it's just been really, really, really great and really, really, really fun. Words and photos just can't describe it all.

I have a new celebrity crush: LEE DONG WOOK!!!


OMG, I couldn't stop perving on this guy while watching 'My Girl' and I became all giggly like a schoolgirl every time he had a love scene with Lee Da Hae *sighs* I don't think I've felt like this since seeing Daniel Wu in 'Love Undercover' back in high school hehe

In other news, I OFFICIALLY SUCK AT MAH JONG. I played 2 games of it this week and the 2nd time, I got owned in pretty much every game I played. If I played for money all nite, I'm pretty sure I would've lost all my money. Need practice!!!

Also watched 'Bruno' and 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince' recently. I'll review the movies when I'm not half asleep.

i FINALLY watched Iron Man last nite!!


it was freakin' awesome... even watched the proper ending after the credits... thanks so much GY for taking me to see it... even after all the paying out about not having anyone to see it with hehe

i've been a bit PMSed lately... it's pretty hard to tell most of the time but when i'm at home, my feelings seem to be all outta whack... it sucks =(

spent 3 days straight working and it was actually quite fun despite the hustle and bustle... i've met a few of the newbies and they're quite nice... i enjoy the work atmosphere more now after more than 2 yrs working there hehe

it's fun messing with pplz's minds... after telling everyone i was engaged on MSN last week, i've been bombarded with msgs from pplz either congratulating me or telling me what a big idiot i am for getting engaged so early hehe

for those of u who dunno why i'm suddenly "engaged", it kinda sprang from a convo i had with CC last week... we were commenting about how pplz don't take their relationship statuses on facebook seriously so we figured we'd mess around by saying we were engaged... stay tuned... we'll probably be married soon =P

Catharsis 21 - April

i had a lotta fun doing my catharsis last month... i think i might actually start doing this every month now... just so there's a brief review of how i'm feeling hehe here we go...

7 random things in 7 days

it's been more than a week since i last blogged and 'cause i'm too lazy to write a whole long essay about what i've done in the last week, i'm gonna type 7 random things i did in the last 7 days...

1. Wed 9th April ~ i arrived at uni b4 the library even opened [after 3ish yrs at uni, i now know that the SS&H library opens at 8am hehe]... i know it's probably not that hard a feat for most pplz to be at uni that early but considering i could've slept in instead... i think it's dedication to the max!! [even though i skipped a tute =P]

2. Thurs 10th April ~ i skipped my Property tute [okies, i was desperate to find a random thing i did this day hehe]

3. Fri 11th April ~ i played Guitar Freaks on Wii for the first time ever!! i can see why pplz like the game... i'm not very good at the game but at least i won when i played hehe

4. Sat 12th April ~ i got carried uphill from the carpark of Sun Fay restaurant to the entrance of the HJ's carpark... it wasn't all that far but i totally respect u John for being able to carry someone as heavy as me =P

5. Sun 13th April ~ i played Hold'em Bonus Poker and Caribbean Stud Poker for the first time at the casino and it was awesome!! i won a grand total of $125 that nite ^___^

6. Mon 14th April ~ had a bit of a deja vu 'cause i was hanging out with exactly the same pplz as last Mon and we were doing pretty much exactly the same thing...

7. Tues 15th April ~ scored a free drink during poker w00t w00t something the bartender made which included lemon lime bitters, red cordial and squash i think hehe very sweet and i think it got me and Ketty quite high hehe

hopefully i'll be in the mood to post something longer next time =P

Random ramblings

i feel like writing a longish blog today so get ready for a lotta reading!! there's pics here too so it's prettied up a little hehe

so Easter has pretty much come and gone and it's been an enjoyable few days... Good Friday was spent hanging out with Kev and watching "The Other Boleyn Girl" which i thought was quite good... then off to Julie's for a nice bitching session hehe


Easter Saturday was spent working all day in Country Road which was pretty busy... pplz always tend to go crazy shopping after a big public holiday when all the shops r shut... it's as if they've been deprived of one shopping day and they have to make up for it by doubly shopping the next day... or it could just be 'cause there's a lotta sales around hehe

went to Cath's 21st afterwards and it was so beautiful... with the whole atmosphere, i felt like i was actually at her wedding instead... even her b'day cake looked like a wedding cake!! one part of her party involved 21 of the most important guys in her life giving her a rose and dancing with her whilst 21 of the most important girls in her life made a wish for her and lighted a candle on her cake... thinking i could try and be a bit different, i wished her good health [very Chinese New Year-ish but meh hehe] and a very long, fulfilling life... as well as getting a few invites to her celebrity parties hehe and of course, by special request from everyone at the party, Cath sang a few numbers from the likes of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion... i almost forgot how beautiful her voice was until i heard her sing again... i had tears welling up in my eyes... she's really matured as a person and as a singer and i wish her every success in life... love u long time Cath and thanks for letting me be a part of ur very spesh celebration *hugglez*

after a stopover at the casino, i crashed at CC's place for the nite... even though we got home around 1ish, i didn't sleep 'til 3:30am 'cause i stayed up talking to this guy who also plays APL poker... woke up around 11:30 and after chatting on the net for a bit, CC and i had brunch b4 we started getting ready for CC's Easter Sunday dinner... CC took care of the food while i took care of the creative side of things [namely, making and decorating the Easter baskets hehe]... watched a lotta TV b4 pplz started showing up and after what seemed like eternity, we got to the dinner table and we all got to make and eat rice paper rolls as well as eat some nice Sara Lee cheesecake... also played a pretty fun game of Cranium, went on a late nite Easter egg hunt around CC's front and backyard and played poker whilst watching "300"... i won $3 in the end w00t w00t thanks to CC for letting me crash and for organising this splendid gathering and to Taiki for driving me home... and so sorry for getting u a little lost hehe

my plans for the rest of my holz? 2 more b'day parties, work, study for my PSYC2010 exam, research for my LAWS3111 assignment and gym... and hopefully i get to slot in some time to get my hair done as well... i haven't done anything to my hair for nearly 6 months now!!

and to live up to the name of today's blog, here r some random ramblings:
~ normally i don't ever remember my dreams but last nite, i had a dream that me and Mr Sparkle were a couple... even though i've never talked to the guy in my life and i've only ever seen him 3 times, the feeling i got after i woke up today was really nice and it put a big smile on my face... it's been a while since i've felt that way... and b4 i get bombarded with msgs of "OMG, who is this Mr Sparkle?! u've never told me about him" etc etc, i don't like him nor do i have a crush on him =P

~ a thought crossed my mind today as i was checking my facebook... for those of u who dunno, facebook's recently updated their privacy settings allowing us to control who sees what on our profiles... i dunno about other pplz but it's things like this that make me think that nobody trusts anyone anymore... and it's a little ironic 'cause we kinda put it on ourselves... we risk trusting other pplz, they lose the trust and 'cause of that, we get wary and cautious of pplz we know now and in the future... i just find it quite sad... then again, who am i to talk?! i trust very few pplz nowadays

~ just finished watching ep 17 of 最美麗的第七天 and the situations r so sad... after watching it, i'm REALLY hoping there's at least one happy ending here... especially for TVB Mr Sparkle and Niki... they've done so much for each other... [SPOILERS AHEAD...] she went all across Japan to look for him and stayed by his side even though she was sick and he bought her all 4 commitment rings and even designed her dream house... [END OF SPOILERS] it's just really, really, ridiculously sweet *sighs* btw Beckie, TVB Mr Sparkle's real name is 鄭嘉穎 [Kevin Cheng] hehe

~ i had a look at some of the personality traits of my birth month and a few of them were quite intriguing...

Catharsis 21

firstly, i'd like to thank Shumin for the inspiration for this blog... although this post seems like a really emo rant, i'm not feeling emo atm... i just feel like sharing some things that have been on my mind hehe

1. i feel so old yet so young at the same time
2. i'm sick of uni yet it's still a safety net for me
3. Good Charlotte had a point...

4. why is it that when i start getting close to some friends, i start losing the closeness with other friends?

7. i'm starting to create an emotional barrier around myself

9. i desperately need to clean up my room

i always used to think i was a warm-warm person... i think i'm starting to turn warm-cold... or even worse, cold-warm...

okies okies, call me a copycat or whatever but i figured since i'm blogging more often, i might as well blog on an actual blog site!! facebook's all well and good but i really think i should stop going on that site so often... it's like i don't have a life or something hehe

:: A FEW RANDOM THOUGHTS... ::

1. had a bit of an embarassing day at uni yesterday... started the day by waking up at nearly 12 and then after passing up 2 free rides to uni, i missed not 1, not 2, but 3 buses in a row... ended up being late for my only class of the day which started at 4pm... had to sit on the floor for the entire lecture 'cause there was no space left... and right after i went to sit down, i got a msg from Ketty and since i didn't have time to turn my phone to silent, my Homer Simpson msg tone went off and i was like "CRAP!!"... everyone was looking at me *sighs*

to top it off, i didn't have time to eat on the way to uni so i was absolutely starving by the time class rolled around and my stomach was grumbling REALLY loudly throughout half the lecture 'til the break when i got a packet of chips to eat >_<" also played a bit of poker at the Red Room which was crap 'cause i got crap cards the whole nite... to sum it all up, my first day of uni sucked ass!

2. Sun and Mon nites r officially my fave nites to watch TV... saw the last 2 eps of "So You Think You Can Dance" [my fave show atm] and i'm so shocked that Hilton ended up leaving... don't care so much for Kassy 'cause i wasn't the biggest fan of her to begin with [even though i think she's a decent dancer]... atm, my 2 fave couples r J.D. and Rhiannon [can't believe they were in the bottom 3 *shock horror*] and Demi and Jack... they're all awesome dancers!! makes me wanna learn to dance... but i'm so unco =(

3. to expand on point 2, SYTYCD has inspired me to try and get good at DDR again... a goal of mine that i've tried to achieve for the past few yrs [b4 i stopped playing DDR] was to pass "Sakura" on Standard mode... i always told myself that once i passed that song, i'd start playing Heavy mode on DDR... i've downloaded Stepmania onto my laptop and i can pass the song pretty easily with the keyboard so i'm gonna use that as a chance to learn the steps... i'm hoping soon enough that i will be able to pass this song with no help... how sad of me hehe wish me luck!!

to Julie: for the dedication on ur blog... i'm pretty sure u dunno this but it really brightened up my day when i saw that... i was feeling a little emo yesterday and seeing ur note cheered me up =) i'm glad u're doing better!!
to Jeann: for clearing up who beeped at me at Toowong... i was like "what the?!" when i heard the beeping and i couldn't make out who was waving at me... so don't think i was ignoring u or anything!! hehe

5. i also wanna welcome back Tiff who's back in Brissy today after spending waaaaaaaaaay too long in the Phillippines... i missed u so much girl!! *hugglez*

6. cooked my 2nd bowl of mee goreng ever today [i normally don't have mee goreng in the house...] and i thought everything was okies 'til i looked at the stove and found out i partially melted one of my Mum's microwaveable containers >_<" this is what happens when i actually cook stuff for a change *sighs*
