Confessions of a Shopaholic... sorta

Took a break from my studies today [okies, I lie... I just wanted an excuse not to study hehe] and went to Indro for all the mid-season sales. Since I got there at 2ish, I figured I'd spend all my time at Myer so I wouldn't spend so much money. What a mistake that was... here's what I ended up buying:

1. Gisele Bundchen Ipanema sandals - $15.94 [from $39.95... a great bargain!! And they're so comfy... I have them in purple too hehe]
2. Shiseido foundation - $60.35 [this is actually for Mum but I don't expect her to pay me back]
3. Lovable strapless bra and 3 pairs of Elle MacPherson Intimates undies - $42.14 [one of my undies was free and all intimate apparel was 30% off... more great bargains!!]
4. Jag knitted hoodie, Jag top, Miss Shop knitted top and Miss Shop knitted hoodie - $148.96 [knitwear was all 30% off and my Jag top had an extra 20% off 'cause I was a MyerOne member]
5. 'Breaking Dawn' book and Lonely Planet's 'HK and Macau' city guide - $37.92 [both books were 30-35% off RRP]
TOTAL SPENDAGE = $305.31
BUT after calculating the sales and my staff discount, I saved $254.18... I would've spent nearly twice as much money if I paid full price for all this... I'm proud of my efforts =)

If you look at that, you might be mistaken into thinking that I'm some kinda shopaholic. To be honest, I haven't spent this much money since my Melbourne trip. Earlier this week, I bought 2 Muse CDs and Season 4 of 'One Tree Hill' but that only totalled less than $50. When it comes to shopping, I'm definitely a bargain hunter. I don't believe in paying full price for anything unless it's an absolute necessity or it's a pressie for someone. Not sure what's up with my spending this week. I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on food this week too. Thank God I'm working 3 days next week, including Easter Monday which is a public holiday so that'll make up for the splurging this week.

In other news, I've finally gotten around to doing footy tipping and since I'm spending most of the Easter long weekend at home, I've been on the official NRL website a lot checking up on the scores. 5 games have been played so far and I've picked 4 of those winners. Not bad considering it's my first time!! If all the other teams I've picked end up losing, at least I got half of them right hehe I watched the Broncos-Roosters game last night and holy crap, I was so scared they were gonna lose after the Roosters scored 2 tries in the closing minutes of the game!!! Go Warriors, Tigers and Rabbitohs!!! [my picks for the last 3 games of Round 5]

Another thing I wanted to bring up in this blog that I forgot to mention in my last blog... last Sunday, I went to Supanova for the first time in many, many years. And when I say many, many years, I mean I haven't been since high school hehe I scored a free ticket in thanks to Cam and when Cam, Dave and I got there, we headed to the Q&A session with Hayden Panettiere. She's actually quite pretty in real life and I could see why Cam and Dave and all the other nerdy guys at Supanova wouldn't stop perving on her. Throughout the whole session, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her as all her fans kept asking her stupid questions like whether she was single [okies, maybe not the stupidest question but it was pretty cliche], whether a taco or a grilled cheese sandwich would win in a fight or whether she liked sex for pleasure following a spiel on dolphins being the only other mammal which has sex for pleasure.

After that experience, Cam and Dave headed off to play Street Fighter 4 on the Xbox while I headed to the only things that interested me at Supanova: Singstar and DDR hehe After a quick look at what manga there was on offer, I bumped into Ning and we ended up singing 'All the Small Things' by Blink 182 on Singstar. I got a score of 9400ish which I think is a personal best for me =) Didn't get to play DDR in the end, but I would've had to pay $2 for the game anyway. Sif pay $2 at Supanova when I can pay $1 at Timezone or Funhouse hehe I'm such an azn sometimes... Overall, the Supanova experience was alright but I probably wouldn't go again unless it was free. Come on, I got in for free the last 2 times I went to Supanova... why pay now?!

Haven't got much of an update on my Sydney trip as yet, since the people I'm planning to go with all seem to be iffy with the transportation and the duration of the trip. I've got CC's annual Easter gathering tomorrow night, which should be a blast as always. Hopefully, I'll stop being lazy and take photos from this event. I miss taking photos =( Will also give an update on how the study is going ['cause I know you guys wanna hear all about it hehe] and how the rest of my footy tips turn out. Now, back to study... or Facebook... or watching 'High Stakes Poker' on YouTube... it's more likely the last 2 options... damn my procrastinating!!!
